1 Lyta: “You’re supposed to identify with Mario, Mom. Not Koopa.”
2 Circe: “Really? He isn’t a very interesting protagonist. He doesn’t even seem to appreciate this amazing, gravity-defying world of wonders and magic flora his princess has been lucky enough to marry into.”
2 Lyta: “There’s no arranged marriage between Koopa and the princess. She was kidnapped.”
3 Circe: “Girls today. Always wanting to marry for love.”
3 Lyta: “You’d better not be planning to dump me into an arranged marriage. I don’t want to end up with Bizarro or Gorilla Grodd or whoever to cement some dumb alliance you have.”
4 Circe: “I… actually, I thought I might take some time off from dealing with the problems of the mortal world. It’s been a long time, Lyta. I want to… to make up for lost time.”
4 Lyta: “Seriously?”
5 Circe: “Yeah. Besides, I’m certain your father can handle Diana. It doesn’t… it doesn’t need to be my hand at her throat.”
5 Lyta: “But I thought all that ‘death of witch and the birth of witch’ stuff… that you couldn’t leave that to chance. That you had to make sure… make sure she didn’t steal your soul.”
6 Circe: “Maybe. But I’ve given it a lot of thought. You can’t fight fate, honey. Nobody has ever succeeded. So if it turns out I don’t have much time left… well, I want to spend it with you. As a proper mother. I love you so much, baby.”
6 Lyta: “I… I love you too, Mom. I’m glad I have you back.”
